Welcome to the British Sake Association

Patron:  His Excellency Shin Ebihara,  Ambassador of Japan

The British Sake Association sends our condolences to the people of Japan in the aftermath of the recent tragic earthquake and tsunami. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and colleagues, and of course the rice farmers and sake brewers, at this shocking time.

NEWS AND EVENTS

Summer 2011 New Season Sake Tasting
Tombo This will be our second tasting since the tragic events in Japan in March.
As you may know, many of the sake brewers are struggling since the disaster, either because their breweries have been directly hit, or because of damage to the infrastructure; but also because of import restrictions by some countries on their products. We feel that the best way we can help the brewers is by drinking their sake – Sake From Japan. Let's shout it out!

In this tasting , presented by Chris Hughes of Tazaki Foods, we will have three sake from breweries in the tsunami-stricken area. But just as important, we are presenting two new-season sake. This is a rare opportunity to taste freshly-pressed sake, available only at the beginning of the season.
Tombo will also have bottles on sale at a special price (this evening only) so you can support the brewers of Japan by taking some home with you.
Ticket price includes five different sake and tombo's exemplary Japanese food.
Thursday 30th June 2011
7.00pm - 9.00pm

29 Thurloe Place, London SW7
